Our February 2009 Chapter gathering breakfast at Carrows restaurant:
What an excellent gathering. We had a really wonderful time with the visiting Krows from 2K, Tom and Barb Jeffries and of course our long distance members Dennis and Sherry Madsen by way of Utah and Mark Kratz all the way from Texas who also brought along a close friend Cecilia Roberts. Cecilia is a lovely person who fit in with the group like a glove. We only wished we were able to spend more time getting to know her. But we're looking forward to doing just that this October with our scheduled "overnighter" to the Kratz Ranch. Dennis and Sherry brought along another long time member in "Qoala" our mascot. After the Froggies of 2N and CAC had their way with our Qoala, we've been a little unsure which direction he/she went... But of course, if you were at the meeting you would've known that we didn't have her/him back in our hands for very long. Jean Tobin won a dubious wingnut award for losing Qoala to Bill Johnson of the Krows with hardly a struggle. However, she did redeem herself by joining Shirley and me along with the Fosters and Camachos and her hubby Bob the next day at 2K's gathering to retrieve said mascot. I wished I could've taken a picture of Bob Tobin securing Qoala on his person... We did return the favor to 2K when opportunistic Shirley stuck her hands under "Sgt-at-Arms" Jerry Kougel's arm and grabbed hold of their mascot and was able to wrestle it away. It appears the Camachos have plans on taking "Hekyl or Jekyl" for a trip around the southwest. We also had our ceremony to install this year's CA2Q Chapter Couple of the Year and Individual of the Year. The very deserving recipients were Steve and Jacque Foster (COY) and Susie Coles (IOY). Congratulations!!
