Mt Hamilton Ride Loop

A very pleasant day for a ride and practice our technique riding curvy mountain roads. The ride was to start from Carrows parking lot and head towards Mines Road in Livermore. As I arrived at the parking lot I see two bikes a grey 1500 and a "Boss Hoss". Standing next to that behemoth was none other than Norman Unwin and his side pouch companion "Teddy". Steve Pelovsky later walked out of Carrows to join us with Mike Reaves arriving soon after. Norman wasn't able to ride with us as he was on his way to work but wanted to stop and say hello. We had a good chat and Teddy looked very cute and settled in his pouch. Our ride through Mines Road and the San Antonio Antelope valley was beautiful. We had a brief stop at the "Junction" and soon took off for Mt Hamilton. As many of you know the road to the top can be very challenging even to some experienced Wing riders. But I have to say I was very impressed with how much Steve Pelovsky has progressed in his riding skill with the 1500. Many of you may know that Steve had not ridden a motorcycle in a very long time. I believe it's been a few decades for him. Taking on a Wing right off was courageous but he was smart and took the MSF basic course. We also have Bill Androws to thank for mentoring and encouraging Steve along. To my estimation; he's ready to ride with the Chapter. Regretfully, our ride had to be cut short as I was not feeling well enough to finish the loop through Calaveras road. Steve and I took Hwy 680 after Mt Hamilton and Mike Reaves stayed in the San Jose area. Overall, a very good ride.
